The Iran Gulf attacks expanded across the region after missiles and drones targeted multiple Gulf states hosting US military assets.

Air defense systems in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar intercepted several incoming threats overnight.

The Iran Gulf attacks unfolded as the wider conflict between Iran, the United States and Israel entered another dangerous phase.

Gulf governments activated emergency defense measures to protect military bases, oil infrastructure and civilian areas.

Saudi Arabia intercepts missiles and drones

Air defense units in Saudi Arabia responded to ballistic missiles and drone launches approaching key locations.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, security forces intercepted threats targeting strategic sites near Prince Sultan Air Base.

Authorities reported the following interceptions:

  • Two ballistic missiles destroyed before reaching the base
  • Six drones intercepted near the Shaybah Oil Field
  • One drone neutralized east of Riyadh

Officials increased air defense readiness across the kingdom as tensions intensified.

Qatar intercepts Iranian drones

The Iran Gulf attacks also reached Doha, where defense forces intercepted multiple drones launched toward the country.

According to the Qatar Ministry of Defence:

  • Ten drones were launched toward Qatari territory
  • Nine drones were intercepted by air defenses
  • One drone landed in an unpopulated area

Authorities temporarily restricted airspace operations while security teams assessed potential risks.

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority later allowed limited flights to resume, prioritizing evacuation routes and emergency operations.

UAE air defenses respond to missile threats

Air defense systems in the United Arab Emirates also engaged incoming missiles and drones linked to the Iran Gulf attacks.

Explosions heard across several emirates resulted from interception operations.

Authorities confirmed:

  • Ballistic missiles were intercepted before reaching targets
  • Drone debris fell in isolated areas
  • Airports remained under heightened monitoring

The Dubai Media Office reported that debris from an intercepted projectile caused a minor incident near Dubai International Airport.

Shortly afterward, Emirates temporarily suspended flights to and from Dubai.

Regional security tensions intensify

The Iran Gulf attacks have raised fears of a broader regional confrontation.

Security analysts highlight several emerging risks:

  • Disruption of commercial aviation across Gulf airspace
  • Threats to global energy infrastructure
  • Increased military activity near shipping routes
  • Escalation involving US forces stationed in the region

The developments follow continued missile launches toward Israel and US-linked facilities across the Middle East.
